If you are moving home, it is often a common thing to wonder about and something that you need to consider, as to how much weight you can put into each of the house moving boxes. This will help you to determine which things can be put into boxes, and how many things you can put into each box too, and therefore help you to decide how many moving boxes online that you need and in which sizes. The weight will vary from box to box, and the type of box that you are using, plus the size of the box that you are using.
- Double walled packing boxes for moving are the strongest by far. They are much more durable, and can hold much heavier things inside of them. Typically you can hold up to 30kg into a double walled cardboard box, so they are fine for carrying lots of small items and even the larger and heavier ones too. The larger the box, the more flimsy they will become however, so a really big double walled box can hold less weight than a medium sized option. A smaller box can hold a little more than 30kg, and a really large box will hold slightly less, maybe 25kg approximately.
- Single walled boxes are much weaker, and can therefore hold much less weight inside of them. The most you can put into a single walled box is 10-15kg, because they will split if you put things that are too heavy inside of them. It is the same rule of thumb that the smaller boxes are sturdier than the larger ones, so a smaller single walled box can hold more weight inside of it.
- Archive boxes with lids are very sturdy heavy duty moving boxes because the lids add some extra support that other boxes do not have. You can probably put the same amount as a double walled box, so around 30kg into each archive box.
- The quality of the boxes is a huge factor to consider, and poor quality cardboard will not hold much weight. If they are not put together well enough, the boxes could easily split apart which would cause problems for heavy things that you are putting inside of them.
- Your ability to carry the box is a factor as to how much weight you put into them as well, because you don’t want them becoming too hard to lift. It would add time and effort to your move.
